PARADIES – PARADISO

Paradise is a Metaphor for a place where you attain fulfillment. What does that mean for two sculptors that are connected through a large studio space in a location that seems as close as heaven will ever get for them? John Greer and Vanessa Paschakarnis are exploring conceptually the ideas of attaining a state of spiritual rightness – each through their own language of object and image. In this exhibition they are trying to spread out their thoughts to invite you on a journey of exploration and sustenance that may help you to figure out your way to Paradise. It is one of self-exploration through questioning artworks that you are confronted with. Art has the power to transcend the ordinary and when a piece works, it attains a state of rightness. It feeds you. It empowers you.

In this exhibition the two artists are not trying to give you an answer, but immerse you in a space that hopefully will make ideas bounce of the walls.

Paradise is also a place found – an idea that resonated for this group exhibition and allows likeminded artist friends from far away to exhibit next to each other. Within the framework of their own Paradise found the artists are able to express those individual searches that are only expressed in the language of art.

Das Paradies ist eine Metapher für einen Ort, an dem man Erfüllung erlangt. Was bedeutet das für zwei Bildhauer, die durch einen großen Atelierraum an einem Ort miteinander verbunden sind, der dem Himmel so nahe kommt, wie es für sie auf Erden erscheint? John Greer und Vanessa Paschakarnis erforschen konzeptionell die Ideen zur Erlangung einer spirituellen Richtigkeit - jeweils durch ihre eigene Objekt- und Bildsprache. In dieser Ausstellung versuchen sie, ihre Gedanken auszudrücken, um Sie auf eine Entdeckungs- und Erkundungsreise einzuladen, die Ihnen dabei helfen kann, Ihren eigenen Weg ins Paradies zu finden. Es ist eine von Selbsterkundung durch Befragung von Kunstwerken, mit denen Sie konfrontiert sind. Kunst hat die Macht, das Gewöhnliche zu überwinden, und wenn ein Kunstwerk funktioniert, erreicht es einen Zustand der Richtigkeit. Es nährt dich. Es stärkt dich.

In dieser Ausstellung versuchen die beiden Künstler nicht, eine Antwort zu geben, sondern tauchen Sie in einen Raum ein, der hoffentlich Ideen an die Wand prallen lässt. Das Paradies ist auch ein gefundener Ort - eine Idee, die für diese Gruppenausstellung Anklang fand und gleichgesinnte Künstlerfreunde aus der Ferne ermöglicht, nebeneinander auszustellen. Im Rahmen ihres eigenen gefundenen Paradieses können die Künstler die einzelnen Recherchen vorstellen, die nur in der Sprache der Kunst ausgedrückt werden können.
