Echo depicts an enlarged human made cowry shell used as a precursor to coinage. It looks like a mask, and a mask signifies an objective witness. This is like a third-party witness to a value transaction. By referring to this specific object and re-making it as a large sculpture, it acknowledges the seminal event in human history: The abstract idea of money is one of the major inventions of the human race!

 

Echo rappresenta una conchiglia di ciprea artificiale, ingrandita e utilizzata come precursore della moneta. Somigliante ad una maschera, quindi testimone oggettivo, facendo riferimento a questo oggetto specifico ricostruito come una grande scultura, si riconosce in esso l’evento fondamentale della storia umana: l’idea astratta del denaro è una delle più grandi invenzioni della razza umana!
